What say you?

Dark skin Vs. Light skin...

Whether you're a light or dark skin African American woman, an African American man, or someone from the outside looking in, it is obvious that there is a culturally internal stigma that exist within our race. Truth is, the "internal discrimination" more than likely began during slavery, when Africans Americans of darker skin were required to work outdoors, and lighter skin individuals were allowed to be in the house. Why, you might ask? Well, Tupac said it best, "The darker the flesh then the deeper the roots". The darker you were, the more African you were, and therefore, the dirtier. Slave owners and their families actually felt as though darker skinned individuals were dirtier, so they generally felt more comfortable having the lighter skinned black people within their homes. To no avail, this had a tremendous effect on African Americans perspective on themselves, and even today, it's still a heavy topic. But they say it's just a theory...
